THE BUNNY WIGGLER

MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Mustad 3366 or any standard length ringed eye hook. Size 4.

  2. Weight - Optional.

  3. Thread - Black 6/0

  4. Eyes - Green Spirit River mono eyes.

  5. Tail - Brown or olive rabbit zonker strip.

  6. Body - Olive or varigated olive/black chenille.

  7. Legs - Bootbeer rooster hackle.

  8. Shell Back - Spirit River "Olive Body Stretch".

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Tie in thread and eyes at the head of the fly.

  2. Wrap the tying thread to hook's bend and tie in the tail then the shell back material.

  3. Tie in the body chenille and wrap forward 4 or 5 turns, secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  4. Tie in the leg hackle and wrap 1 or 2 turns, secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  5. Pull the shell back to the front of the leg hackle, secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  6. Dub the area between the leg hackle and over/under/between the eyes. Whip finish and cement.

This is a great Smallmouth bass fly!!! I like to fish The Bunny Wiggler around shallow weed beds early and late in the day. I am thinking simulation of a damsel fly or dragon fly nymph.
