MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Daiichi 1750 - 1720, Dairiki 710, Mustad 9672, Tiemco 5263 Size 2 - 4.

  2. Thread - Black 6/0 Uni-Thread.

  3. Weight - To match fishing needs.

  4. Tail - Grizzly hen hackle fibers.

  5. Abdomen - Large black chenille.

  6. Legs - Medium round rubber legs.

  7. Thorax - Fluorescent orange chenille.

  8. Hackle - Large white rooster saddle.

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Secure hook in the vice and build a good thread base.

  2. Weight - Add lead wire to match fishing needs.

  3. Tail - A good sized clump of grizzly hen hackle fibers.

  4. Legs - Attach a joined double strand of medium round rubber legs at the center of the hook shank with figure 8 wraps to position the legs perpendicular to the hook shank.

  5. Abdomen - At the point where the tail is attached tie in a strand of large black chenille and wrap to the back of the legs. Seperate the legs and take one turn of chenille between the legs and 2 turns very close to the front of the legs. Secure the chenille with tying thread and trim the excess. Trim the legs so they are equal.

  6. Thorax - At the front of the abdomen tie in a strand of fluor. orange chenille and wrap forward 3 full turns. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  7. Hackle - Tie in and wrap 5 turns of large white saddle at the front of the thorax. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess. Build a tapered head, whip finish and cement.
