MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Any standard Dry Fly Hook Size 12-20.

  2. Thread - Red 6/0.

  3. Butt - Red Tying Thread.

  4. Tail - Mallard Flank.

  5. Abdomen - Chartreuse Dubbin.

  6. Thorax - Chartreuse Dubbin.

  7. Wing - Mallard Flank

  8. Hackle - Light Ginger Cock.

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Insert a hook in the vise and build good thread base.

  2. Tail - Tie in 8 to 10 Mallard Flank feather fibers about 1 1/4 hook shank length and trim the butts close.

  3. Butt - Form a thin 1/16" butt with red tying thread.

  4. Abdomen - Form a thin tapered abdomen about 2/3 hook shank length

  5. Wing - At the front of the abdomen tie in 12 to 15 Mallard Flank feather fibers extending to the tips of the tail.

  6. Hackle - Prepare and tie in at the front of the abdomen an appropiatly sized light ginger cock hackle and trim the butt close to the hook shank.

  7. Thorax - Form a thin thorax of chartreuse dubbing and let a small amount of red tying thread show through.

  8. Hackle - Palmer 5 to 6 turns of hackle through the entire thorax, secure at front of the thorax with tying thread, build the head with red tying thread, whip finish, and cement. That's All Folks!!!
