MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Any standard nymph hook.

  2. Thread - Black 6/0

  3. Body - Brown translucent Swanundaze and yellow embroidery floss.

  4. Thorax - Dyed black ostrich herl.

  5. Head - Tying thread.

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Insert the hook in the vise, attach the tying thread and build a good thread base.

  2. Body - Attach the Swanundaze and emboidery floss at the bend of the hook and weave a "Sandy Mite" body two thirds of hook's shank length. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  3. Thorax - Attach a couple of ostrich herls at the front of the body and form a two turn thorax. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  4. Head - Build a tapered tying thread head sufficient to cover the butts of the thorax material, whip finish and cement.

    ADDITIONAL NOTES

    An alternative to the standard Lady Mite this Ralph Moon original incorporates translucense into this tried and true pattern.
