MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Daiichi 1150, Mustad 800200BR, Orvis 8891, Tiemco 2457. Size 14.

  2. Thread - Olive Uni-Thread. 8/0

  3. Head - Green glass bead.

  4. Tail - Olive marabou.

  5. Wing Case - Olive Antron yarn.

  6. Thorax - High Desert Green "Tubin Times" dubbing.

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Slip a small green glass bead onto the hook to the hook's eye. Insert the hook into the vise and build a thread base to slightly ahead of the hook's bend.

  2. Tail - Tie in approximately 24 marabou fibers at the rear of the thread base and trim any excess.

  3. Wingcase - Tie in 1/2 of the thickness of a strand of olive antron yarn at the tail tie off point.

  4. Thorax - Twist a dubbing loop with High Desert Green dubbing and wrap forward almost to the rear of the bead head, secure with tying thread and trim the excess. Leave sufficient space for the wingcase tie off between the bead head and the front of the thorax.

  5. Wingcase - Pull the antron yarn to the front of the thorax, secure with tying threadand trim the excess.

  6. Head - Prepare a thin dubbing noodle on the tying thread and cover the sspace between the thorax and bread head, Whip finish and cement.

NOTES

The Q-Damsel was originated and successfully tested yesterday (May 30, 1998) at Idaho's Treasureton Reservoir. The Q in Q-Damsel is for Quick. The fly is very quick to tie!
