Kara is a 9 year old Tier form Iowa and has been tying about a year.
I have chosen this pattern for the youth fly swap because it is an easy pattern to tie for beginning fly tiers.

Materials List
- #10 Mustad dry fly hook
- Danville pre-waxed flourescent pink thread -
- 015 lead wire
- flourescent pink marabou
- medium white chenille
Tying Instruction
- Start the construction by placing the hook in the vice.
- Then the lead wire onto the hook at a point just behind the hooks eye and tie in with the thread.Wrap the thread back to a point just above the barb of the hook, next wrap the lead wire tightly around the shank back to the spot that the thread is and tie off the wire and carefully clip the wire. Make several wraps of thread to tie off the wire.
- Next tie in a small bundle pink marabou which will form the tail with 6 wraps of thread to secure it to the hook.At this time you need to tie in the white chenille which will form the body of the fly. Start wrapping the chenille forward on the hook to a point just slightly behind the hook eye.
- Then carefully wrap the thread forward on the body in evenly spaced wraps which will form the ribbing. When the thread reaches the hook eye wrap it around the shank to fore the head of the fly.
- Whip finish and tie the thread off. Clip the thread and finish with a coat of clear finger nail polish to seal the thread.
I hope you have aloft of fun tying this pattern and have much success with it.
