MATERIALS LIST
- Hook - Daiichi 2441, Mustad 36890, Orvis 1645, Tiemco 7999.
- Thread - Orange 6/0 or smaller.
- Tag - Large oval gold tinsel.
- Tail - Hot orange buck tail, orange Krystal Flash, red golden pheasant.
- Tip - Orange "Anglers Choice Mohair Plus".
- Eyes - Large Mono Eyes.
- Rear Hackle - Red golden pheasant rump.
- Body - Orange "Anglers Choice Mohair Plus".
- Front Hackle - Red Golden pheasant rump.
- Wing - Red golden pheasant rump.
- Head - Orange tying thread.
TYING INSTRUCTION
- Insert the hook in the vise and build a thin tying thread base over hook's shank.
- Tag - Tie in the large oval gold tinsel and wrap a 5 turn tag, secure with tying thread and trim the excess.
- Eyes - Tie in the large mono eyes with figure 8 wraps of tying thread about 1/4" (6.35 mm)ahead of the tag.
- Tip - Twist a dubbing loop of orange Anglers Choice Mohair Plus of sufficient length to fashion the tag and cover the area above and below the eyes. Secure with tying thread immediately in front of the eyes and trim the excess.
- Tail - Tie in a sparse stacked bunch of hot orange buck tail about 1 1/2 times hook's shank length, 8 or 10 strands of orange Krystal Flash and a short (about 1/3 tail length) red golden pheasant rump feather flat over all.
- Rear Hackle - Attach a red golden pheasant rump by the tip at the fornt of the eyes and wrap a 1 turn collar. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.
- Body - Twist a dubbing loop of orange Anglers Choice Mohair Plus and wrap the body from the front of the rear hackle to the rear of normal head space. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.
- Hackle - Attach a red golden pheasant rump by the tip at the front of the body and wrap a 1 turn collar. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.
- Wing - Attach a red golden pheasant rump feather flat over the body with the tips even with the rear hackle and trim the excess.
- Head - Build a tapered tying thread head, whip finish and cement if you like.
