- Hook - Daiichi 2546, Mustad 3407, 34007. Size 2/0
- Thread - 3/0 Uni-Thread that matches the top color of the fly.
- Tail/Wing/Throat - Brown bucktail
- Thorax - Large yellow chennile.
- Head - Tying thread.
TYING INSTRUCTION
- Insert a hook into the vise upside down, attach the tying thread and wrap a 3 layer thread base from the rear of normal headspace 1/3 of the length of the hook's shank.
- Tail/Wing/Throat - Attach the large yellow chennile at the rear of the thread base with tying thread. Attach the brown bucktail wing on the underside of the hook at the front of the chennile tie in and trim any excess bucktail butts. Wing length is double the length of bare hook shank.
- Thorax - Wrap the large yellow chenille behind and close enough to the wing to force a canted up position that will hide the hook's point. Finish the thorax by wraping the chennile forward to the rear of normal head space, secure the chennile with tying thread and trim the excess.
- Head - Build a tapered tying thread head, whip finish and double cement.
*NOTES*
Pete Perinchief's Horror though nowhere near undiscovered has withstood the test of time as is very productive today. This Horror was tied by 12 year old Robert McFall during his first 2 weeks of tying. The Horror fishes in traditional "hook up" style and is extremely easy to tie. Sparse dressing assures easy casting and fast sinking.
