HIGH DESERT SOFT HACKLE

MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Daiichi 1270, Mustad 80050BR, Orvis 1510, Tiemco 200R. Size 8 thru 12.

  2. Thread - Olive 6/0.

  3. Head - Small green glass bead and olive dubbing.

  4. Body - High Desert Green "Tubin' Times Sparkle Life Nymph Dubbing".

  5. Rib - Small holographic silver mylar tinsel.

  6. Hackle - Partridge dyed olive.

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Slip the bead over the hook's point to the hook's eye, insert the hook into the vise and build a good thread base.

  2. Attach the ribbing material at hook's bend.

  3. Body - Form a tying thread dubbing loop at the ribbing tie in and add sufficient dubbing to achieve tapered fuzzy body. Wrap the body 3/4 hook shank length.

  4. Ribs - Spiral the ribbing to the front of the body in 4 or 5 turns. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  5. Hackle - Attach a partridge hackle by the tip and wrap a 2 turn hackle collar,secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  6. Head - If desired cover the tying thread wraps between the bead and hackle with a small amount olive dubbing.

  7. Whip finish and cement if you like.
