TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Slip 3 olive beads onto the hook's shank, insert the hook into the vise and build a good thread base to hook's bend.

  2. Tail - Attach a medium small sized clump of olive marabou at the hook's bend equal to the length of the hook's shank. Cover the tail tie in with olive dubbing and tie off the tying thread and cut.

  3. Eyes - If used attach eyes with figure 8 tying thread wraps.

  4. Abdomen - Slide the rear bead to the tail cover dubbing. Re-attach the tying thread in front of the bead. Form a small "High Desert Green" dubbing noodle on the tying thread of sufficient quantity to wrap 3 or 4 turns in front of the rear bead. Tie off the tying thread. Slide the middle bead rearward to the dubbing hump and repeat the process for the middle and front bead. Note: A hump of dubbing is wrapped at the front of each bead.

  5. Wing Case - Secure a 3/16th inch wide strip of green "Krinkle Ribbon" at the front dubbing hump.

  6. Thorax - Attach a tying thread dubbing loop and add sufficient "High Desert Green" dubbing to build an extremely fuzzy thorax. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess dubbing loop. The fuzziness of the thorax simulates the insect's legs.

  7. Wing Case - Pull the wing case material to the front of the fly, (between and over the eyes if used) secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  8. Head - Build a thin olive dubbing noodle sufficient to wrap a 2 or 3 turn head. If eyes are used cover the area behind, under, on top, and in front with figure 8 wraps of dubbing. Whip finish an cement.
