MATERIALs LIST
- Thread: Uni thread 6/0
- Hook: Mustad 3366 3/0
- Weed Guard: 30 lb. Mason Hardline
- Tail: Zonker strip.
- Body: Ice chenille
- Skirt/Collar: Sili-legs
TYING INSTRUCTION
- Wrap a good thread base onto hook. Secure the weed guard material with tying thread from the start of the hook bend to the middle of the hook bend.
- Cut a two to three-inch long Zonker rabbit strips and tie in on hook's top where you started the weed guard.
- Tie in the ice chenille at the point you tied in the Zonker rabbit strips and leave until later.
- Take one ribbon of Sili-legs and cut it in half. This will give a piece that has one end with the legs connected and the other end with the legs loose. Take the connected end of the legs and tie in just behind the eye of the hook with the loose ends over the hook eye (reverse style). Lash the legs tightly and distribute equally around the shank of the hook rather like spinning deer hair. Tying the legs in reverse style will cause a "springy" effect when tied towards the body in step 6.
- Wrap the Ice Chenille to the back of the loose Sili-legs, covering the Sili-legs tie in and secure with tying thread.
- At this point, you are ready to start wrapping the head of the fly. Pull the Sili-legs that are facing over the hook eye to the fly's body. Use tying thread to wrap the head to a point that the legs are facing the body and holding in that position.
- Next bring up the weed guard material and poke the free end through the eye of the hook. Bend the free end to the body of the fly and secure with tying thread while building the head. Whip finish the head, cut off the excess weed guard, cement, and.......... You are ready to catch some... SERIOUS BASS!!!
