MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Daiichi 1270, Orvis 1510, Mustad 80050BR, Eagle Claw LO52, Tiemco 200R.

  2. Thread - Black 6/0 or smaller.

  3. Tail - Black marabou.

  4. Abdomen - Black dubbing.

  5. Thorax - Black dubbing.

  6. Head - Tying thread

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Insert a hook in the vise and build a good thread base.

  2. Tail - Attach a sparse marabou tail at the hooks bend with tying thread.

  3. Abdomen/Thorax - Apply sufficient dubbing to form a thin tapered abdomen and a thorax. Thorax should be 2 times the size of the abdomen.

  4. Head - Form a tapered tying thread head, whip finish and cement.

NOTES

This very simple pattern from Oregon tier Linda Foote doubles as a leech.
