MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Mustad 9672, Daiichi 1720 - 1750, Orvis 1526, Eagle Claw L058, Tiemco 5363 - 300. Size 4-6-8.

  2. Thread - Black 6/0.

  3. Eyes - X-small plain lead colored with permanent marking pen.

  4. Tail - Black, olive or rusty brown zonker rabbit strip.

  5. Body - Ice chenille that matches tail color.

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Insert a hook in the vise and build a good thread base.

  2. Tie in the lead eyes at the head of the hook with figure 8 thread wraps and secure with a couple drops super glue. Color lead eyes to match the body color with permanent marking pen.

  3. Tie in a zonker strip tail1 to 2 times hook's shank length .

  4. Tie in the ice chenille at the tail tie in point, wrap forward to the eyes, secure with tying thread, whip finish and cement.

HISTORY AND ADDITIONAL NOTES

The "Frozen Hair" is a great leech pattern. Last summer I caught a 19" "Smallie" and a 5 lb. channel catfish on this fly. I'd rather fish a fly such as this than a deer hair popper!!!
