MATERIALS LIST

  1. Hook - Daiichi 1270, Mustad 80050BR, Orvis 1510, Tiemco 200R. Size 6 to 12.

  2. Thread - Black

  3. Head - Blue Glass Bead (Gick-Paradise Blue)

  4. Tail - Black Marabou

  5. Ribbing - Flashabou Weave - Blue/Green

  6. Body - Black Chenille

  7. Hackle - Pheasant Rump dyed black

TYING INSTRUCTION

  1. Smash the barb on the hook, and slide a blue bead to the eye of the hook.

  2. Starting behind the bead build a good thread base to the bend in the hook.

  3. Tie in a marabou tail about the length of the hook shank, trim the excess.

  4. Tie in two strands of the Flashabou Weave on each side of the tail. Trim to same length as the tail.

  5. Tie in two more Flashabou strands at the hook bend, these will be used as ribbing.

  6. Tie in chenille, wrap forward and leave enough room for the hackle. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  7. Take the two pieces of ribbing and twist them together. Wrap forward, spacing turn about 1/8 inch apart. Secure with tying thread and trim the excess.

  8. Tie in hackle by the tips. Fold barbs back with your fingers, and wrap to hook eye. Secure with tying thread, trim the excess,whip finish and cement if you like.

    ADDITIONAL NOTES

    Linda Foote sends this fly as a proven Central Oregon lake fly. I think it worthy of a try in any lake or stream.
